Photo Gallery Part 5
As somebody said, every journey has its end.
Before he hit the road again, he had an exceptionally luxurious stay (as high as 30 bucks!) at San Luis Obispo, a beach 80 miles north of Los Angeles.
The beach was incredibly quiet and beautiful.
As he watched the Sun going below the horizon, he remembers he thought of Charles Reich's "The Sorcerer of the Bolinas Beach."
It was a few months later that he learned the sea water below was in fact very cold.
At this occasion, he spent more than an hour just watching.
From San Luis Obispo to Monterey, he intentionally took the oldest road in California: Route 1. The purpose was, of course, to know this fog you see in the picture. You can hear the Pacific Ocean roaring from down below right.
And home at last! The town in picture: Santa Cruz, an hour to Berkeley where he lived. He spent ten days in this 2500 miles tour. This was his first, but never was the last. Yet, it was the first of his over 60 thousands miles tours over the West.
